Dog Violet - April 2, 2010

It is important to notice the little beauty that surrounds us. Going up our stairs today I spotted this Dog Violet coming out from under the fence that separates us from the neighbors. It is a tiny, unscented flower, but it is nice to have recognized it. I feel it makes my life more interesting to know the names and a few characteristics about the the wild flowers. Even in the urban environment of Belgrade, nature finds a way to state its presence. The dog violet is an importance early source of nectar for butterflies.
