True to its nature, the Red Admiral Butterfly is one of the last butterflies to be seen before winter comes. Yesterday it was fluttering about in the yard while we were playing baseball. The kids got really excited to see a butterfly in November and were trying to identify it. (I am training them well!)
It is the Red Admiral and it is found all through North America, Europe, and Asia. It must be the butterfly with the greatest range in the world.
With the late fall sun coming through the trees and the Red Admiral flitting around the grass, it was a last gasp of summer! This morning as I write this a cold wind and clouds have come in. Will snow arrive soon?
